Colorado License Plates
Colorado became the 38th state of the union exactly 100 years after the United States declared its independence - August 1st 1876. In the 1960s, Colorado became one of the first states to use Mountains as a decorative landscape for its license plates. The old Colorado license plates of the 1960s had a green row of mountains on the bottom with raised green lettering on a white plate. Other design changes of the 1970's through today changed from white background with green mountains to green background with white mountains. One of the most valuable antique license plates from Colorado is the 1976 Centennial Plates which included light blue mountains and red lettering. eBay auction has Colorado license plates on sale from every decade, including the centennial plates which you can find right here!
